
Something most people out there don’t realise, is that at college, I didn’t study photography, I studied music technology. I’ve always been interested in how things work, so here’s an introduction to another side of me…
It’s a late post today, but it’s half term and I watched a movie with my daughter… Seems like a good excuse to me.

Those are a couple of those kits you can get from maplin. My college course focused more on the technology of making music, rather than making the technology people use to make music, and with some other long term motives, I decided to delve a little deeper into the technology.

I’m getting my head around some of the circuits now, so rather than going by a kit, I’ve started a project on stripboard, which will eventually be a small guitar amp (albeit a very simple one). Once it’s done I’ll no doubt post up a picture or two of it here, and maybe even a video or a recording of me playing through it. For now though, this is the heart of the amp:
